Responsibility and accountability

INTEGRITY, TRANSPARENCY, TRUST, and RESPECTFUL COOPERATION – at Schluckwerder and Valeo Foods Group, we stand by these values.

These values promote our commitment to responsible business practices, which extend to ethical and environmentally conscious decision-making throughout our operations.

Our responsibility covers several key aspects:

  • Social and environmental awareness:  It is our responsibility to continuously improve and openly communicate our corporate social behaviour and our environmental initiatives. This includes considering the long-term impact on society, the economy, and the environment.
  • Employee well-being and asset protection: It is our legal and ethical responsibility to protect our employees, our confidential information, and our organisational assets by adhering to fundamental principles.
  • Supplier standards: It is our responsibility to require of our suppliers to follow the ethical, social, and environmental conduct to which we are committed.
  • Environmental stewardship: It is our responsibility to recognise the importance of environmental conservation. That is why we have set ambitious targets as a Group to reduce our carbon footprint by half by 2030 and to net-zero emissions by 2040.
  • Sustainable manufacturing: It is our responsibility to manufacture our products sustainably, ecologically, and with improved health properties. To this end, we continuously strive to optimise our recipes, packaging, product range, and facilities.

In essence, our commitment to accountability drives us to operate with integrity, prioritise transparency, foster trust, and promote respectful collaboration, thereby contributing positively to society, the environment, and the well-being of our stakeholders.

Sustainability

In an ever-evolving world, our commitment to sustainability remains steadfast. As part of our Valeo Foods Group Sustainability Strategy, we recognise the significant impact businesses can have on society and the environment. We are committed to shaping a sustainable future with our five-pillar strategy mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on several key areas:

  • Our planet – we are dedicated to minimizing our global carbon footprint and hold certifications for our product and production facilities.
  • Our people – our priority is to cultivate a safe and healthy workplace for our employees.
  • Our producers – leveraging synergies within the Group, we prioritise sustainable procurement practices.
  • Our partners – we seek to establish strong ties with local communities.
  • Our products – daily, we strive to produce responsibly and continually work towards improving our products, by providing healthier choices, and packaging reinforcing trust in our brands.

Aligned with Valeo Foods Group targets, Schluckwerder is proactively setting climate targets and advancing our energy transformation and transformation initiatives (Scope 1 and Scope 2).
